Garver Mountain Lookout Tower Photo Print, Yaak Montana Photography

Once a historic lookout tower, and now a place you can stay for the weekend (via the NFS website), Garver lookout tower is a remote NW Montana tower with a cabin and outhouse, atop Garver Mountain, naturally. We camped nearby in Yaak, Montana, the only "town" out there in this vast and wild region(not far from where I grew up) and brought our motorcycles to do some exploring of the back roads. When we arrived at end of the road we found that we still had a steep 1/4 mile hike to do, in our stiff off road motorcycle boots or not at all. Naturally we scrambled up, after coming all that way, and when we returned to our bikes we were greeted by a curious and unafraid Snowshoe hare. A great experience and beautiful place!
