FAQ

Print Sizing

How do I choose the right print size?

Each listing includes a size guide showing recommended viewing distances and wall proportions. As a general rule, prints up to 16×20" suit smaller accent walls or gallery clusters, while 24×36" and above work best as statement pieces. If you're unsure, measure your wall space first and leave at least 6" of breathing room on each side.

How many sizes and formats are available?

Most images are offered in 25 size and format variants — including standard, panoramic, and square crops — in both print-only and canvas options. Available sizes are listed in the variant selector on each product page. Not every image is available in every format; if you'd like a specific size that isn't listed, get in touch.

Are the colors accurate on screen?

We calibrate all images to standard sRGB color profiles and print on professional, color-managed equipment. Monitor calibration varies, so we recommend using the product photos — shot against a neutral background — as your primary color reference.

Framing

What's the difference between a print and a framed canvas?

Prints are produced on fine-art paper and shipped flat or rolled, ready for you to frame as you like. Framed canvas prints arrive stretched over a solid wood frame and are ready to hang — no additional framing needed. For full details on materials, molding profiles, and hanging hardware, visit our Frames for Prints page.

Can I order a print without a frame?

Yes. All paper prints are sold unframed unless you select a framed canvas option. This gives you full control over the frame style and lets the print integrate seamlessly with your existing décor.

Care & Display

How should I care for my print?

Keep prints away from direct sunlight and high-humidity areas such as bathrooms. Fine-art paper prints should be stored flat or in an archival sleeve if not immediately framed. Canvas prints can be lightly dusted with a dry, lint-free cloth — avoid moisture and cleaning products.

How long will the colors last?

We use archival pigment inks rated for 80–100+ years under glass when displayed in normal indoor conditions. Canvas prints carry similar longevity ratings.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

Most orders are produced and dispatched within 3–5 business days. Delivery times vary by destination — domestic US orders typically arrive within 5–10 business days from dispatch. For full shipping options, rates, and international timelines, please see our Shipping Policy.

How are prints packaged?

Smaller prints ship flat in rigid, reinforced mailers. Larger prints and rolled canvases ship in heavy-duty tubes. Framed canvases are boxed with corner protectors and foam padding. All packaging is designed to survive transit intact.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Please review our Shipping Policy for current international destinations, rates, and estimated transit times. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility and vary by country.

More Questions:

I can definitely offer framing - I'll have a listing soon for this option! It is often a better value for my clients to have their prints framed locally. If you would like guidance on where to find frames, I’m happy to help!

If you prefer not to frame, I offer canvas wraps, metal prints, and more: https://lostkat.com/collections/add-ons-and-upgrades

Many of my items are custom-made to order and not kept in stock, but I do accept returns within 45 days if the item is in new condition. Please read more here.

I understand that large-format artwork is an investment, so if you would like a small proof print before purchasing a large print, canvas, or metal print, let me know!

It’s always a good idea to keep prints and canvases out of direct sun as it can prematurely age them. Moisture in a room can also warp an unframed image. For tapestries, a cold wash on a gentle cycle and tumble dry with no heat is best.

I can print in almost any size you want with most images. If they are film, I scan them at a very high DPI; if digital, I can go as high as 30x40 or a triptych as large as 30 inches tall by 60 inches wide.

If requested, I can include a custom note with a print at no extra cost and wrap prints up to 11x14. Prints 16x20 to 30x40, canvas prints, metal prints, and home decor are shipped from my printer and can include a custom 4x6 note. I can sign and ship larger prints for an extra shipping cost. Please leave notes at checkout to discuss the options!

None of our products ship with an itemized invoice so they're ready to arrive as gifts without worry.
